Here are some simple steps which can be taken to disable task manager:
1. Firstly, press ‘Windows Logo + R’ which will lead you to ‘Run’. Then type ‘gpedit.msc’ and click on ‘OK’.
2. This will lead you to a new window called ‘Local Group Policy Editor’. After that, open ‘User Configuration’. Then you will be headed to the window showing a list of three folders. They are Software Settings, Windows Settings and Administrative Templates.
3. Double click on ‘Administrative Templates’. Then, you will see a list of eight folders. Open the folder called ‘System’.
4. In ‘System’ you will see ‘Ctrl+Alt+Del Options’ at the top of the list of folders. Open that folder.
5. There you will see a list of four files among which you will have to open ‘Remove Task Manager’. Then a new window will appear which will contain the options like Not Configured, Enabled and Disabled. The option ‘Not Configured’ will be ticked initially. So, you will have to tick ‘Enabled’. Then click on ‘Apply’ and ‘OK’.
After enabling this option, when you right click on the taskbar, you will see the Task Manager option in unclickable form.
In order to disable this feature and again allow Task Manager to be opened. Repeat the steps from number 1 to 5 and then open ‘Remove Task Manager’ and tick either on ‘Not Configured’ or on ‘Disabled’. Then click on ‘Apply’ and ‘OK’.
